-Excellent Production Infrastructure-

Equus Petroleum has developed excellent production infrastructure in the South Turgay basin of Kazakhstan. We currently have 33 wells in operation, being 26 wells in Sarybulak and 7 in Sorkol. Our main production infrastructure is also adjacent to extensive export infrastructure, with nearby pipelines running West, East and South.

Sarybulak Oil Field

We have fully developed infrastructure at the Sarybulak oilfield, which serves as our base of operations for exploration activities in the rest of the licence area. Since the start of production, KTS delivered substantial volumes of crude oil to the international market. This had a sizeable positive impact on the cash flow position of the Sarybulak project, improving its economic viability. KTS plans to continue to deliver a high volume of crude oil to international markets, and have contractual agreements with off-takers from China, Uzbekistan, and Kyrgyzstan.

Key Licences

KTS obtained a production licence for the Sarybulak oil field in 2014 that will remain valid until 2039. This area has proved developed reserves of approximately 43.8 million barrels. The licence also allows export volumes of up to 65% of production. In addition, KTS also holds an exploration licence that covers approximately 1650 square kilometres in the South Turgay basin. We are currently in the production testing period, with probable reserve estimates of 6.8 mln.bbl for Sorkol oilfield, and 14.9 mln.bbl for Kainar oilfield.
